  for those of you who missed it, it was the season opener.

  donald has grouped the candidates into two teams (college graduates and high school graduates).

  Who saw the Apprentice tonight? For those of you who missed it, it was the season opener. Donald has grouped the candidates into two teams (college graduates and high school graduates). Then he informed them that one team has a combined average salary that is more than two times higher than the other . . . that team is the high school graduate team.

  I'm so excited about this show. I am a financial professional with no college degree (thanks WTS! ). I have worked very hard to gain the necessary experience and learn on the job and have worked my way to my current position. Everyone else on my team has a college degree - and many have or are working on their Masters degrees. I am always nervous as the subject of school comes up in conversation . . . as I know I will be asked the inevitable "where did you go to school?" This has always been a huge source of embarassment to me. I mean, how do you explain it . . .. "well, growing up, I was continually encouraged not to attend college so that I would not be influenced by the world's twisted way of thinking; I was educated via the Theocratic Ministry School every Thursday night for 45 minutes; or better yet, I was putting kingdom interests first since Armageddon was just around the corner".

  So, I've always avoided the subject whenever possible. But watching this show is making me feel better. Seeing other people (non-JWs) that are not college educated yet working in a professional field. . . Donald posed the question, "Are experience and attitude more valuable than education?" This is the question he hopes to have answered by the end of this show.

  This should be good! My money is on the high school graduates. What do you guys think?

  this woman, clarise, who lives in hayward, california is a strong beliver of jehovahs witness.

  because she needs to go door to door to spread words of your religion, she only works 3 days a week.

  that is fine.

  You'll notice, if you keep reading, that most of us here are no longer Jehovah's Witnesses.

  However, I can tell you that extramarital affairs are not supported in the religion. If this woman's conduct was known by others in the religion, they "should" talk with her and convince her to talk with the elders in her congregation to get some help.

  I can't say it better than anyone else has said it Blondie, we truly appreciate your wisdom, information and presence here.

  This was such a timely post! I just read a post that Blondie made on the "urban legends" topic where she said that she asked Brother Knorr to corroborate the validity of a story she had heard . . . and it got me wondering, what was Blondie's experience in the "truth". Was she at Bethel? Was she a pioneer? I'd be willing to bet she was .

  Blondie, would you mind please giving the link to your story for some of us newer ones? Or, if you haven't previously shared your experience, and you're comfortable doing so, would you mind telling us?

  After 6 Years My Mom Calls??!!??

  partner: hang on, i'll get her for you.. i haven't heard from my mom in six years, my mom has told my family i am demonized (and she doesn't even know i'm pagan!!

  You handled that beautifully. I am working very hard to ensure my interactions with my Mom are similar to yours going forward.

  I have been purposely bringing up and talking about my issues with the religion regardless of the fact that I know this upsets my Mom. It finally dawned on me just yesterday, when I asked myself, "what am I trying to gain out of these debates". My mom is an older woman (mid seventies), widowed, not very social. Her entire life revolves around the "truth" and her kids. I honestly don't want to take away her beliefs and faith. . . so I kept asking myself, why do I continually try to convince her of my beliefs. I finally realized that I am probably doing this because I want/need to hear from her that she's ok with my beliefs - and that she loves me regardless.

  I am coming to terms with the fact that I'm not going to hear this from her, and I could chose to continue to cause a further riff between us by continually debating the issues, or I can let it go and be thankful for the fact that she hasn't cut me out of her life, and she has stopped the guilt trips. I'm choosing to let it go!

  Thanks for sharing your experience with your Mom. Glad it went well.

  Enlishman, I'm so glad to hear this! It's true, most people don't fully appreciate how great it is to be well until you're sick for an extended period of time.
